From One Valley to Another – 8 Days in the Heart of Authentic Nepal

Day 1 | Nepalgunj

Arrive at Nepalgunj Airport and transfer to your lodge. Daman hosts an information session to present the itinerary, review safety guidelines, and answer any questions. Time permitting, visit a nearby village. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2 | Surkhet

After approximately five hours of travel with scenic photo stops, begin exploring Surkhet. Highlights include:

The Clock Tower
Bulbule Taal Lake, with its ever-moving waters—enjoy an exhilarating high-speed boat ride
Deuti Bajai and Kankre Bihar temples, showcasing local spiritual heritage

Day 3 | Dailekh

Travel along winding roads and charming villages for about seven hours, enjoying breathtaking valley views at every turn. Arrive in a mountain village in Dailekh district. Set up your tents near a traditional house and spend your first night camping under the stars.

Day 4 | Dailekh

Live at the rhythm of mountain village life, guided by your hostess. Participate in daily activities—from making chapatis to foraging for wild fruits in the forest, where the bravest may climb mango, plum, or papaya trees.

Day 5 | Dailekh

The following morning, embark on a hike through the surrounding forest—wild, magical, and alive with birdsong. Later, join village women in crafting donas, small natural and biodegradable leaf bowls. The day concludes with traditional dances, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 6 | Dailekh

Explore the region’s rich history with visits to :

Jwala Sirsthan Volcano
Dhuleshwor Temple
Panchadeval Complex, a set of ancient monument ruins built under the reign of Shreebarma in 1465 BCE
Narayan, including the historic Kotgadhi site, dating back to the 14th century

Dinner and overnight stay in Dailekh.

Day 7 | Guranse – Thakurdwara

Spend about two hours exploring Guranse, including the observation tower offering spectacular panoramic views of the region and the rhododendron-filled valley. Then drive approximately seven hours to Thakurdwara, concluding the day with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 | Nepalgunj

Enjoy a relaxing morning at the lodge before returning to Nepalgunj Airport, carrying unforgettable memories of Nepal’s valleys, culture, and landscapes.

The surrounding gardens, popular with locals, provide a glimpse into everyday life in Nepal. For those seeking a thrill, a speedboat ride on the lake promises an unforgettable adventure.

North of Dullu, we set up camp in a small mountain village near a traditional house, warmly welcoming us. Experience village life at a gentle, family-like pace, and join in traditional dances for an authentic and unforgettable moment of connection with the local community.
