After breakfast at the lodge, depart for the river. Within minutes, you’ll arrive at the banks of either the Karnali or Babai River, depending on your chosen route.

Morning 🐡

The morning is dedicated to fishing for golden mahseer. You can choose to stay at a single spot or move along the river. Between casts, enjoy the vibrant activity along the riverbanks and watch birds hunting for prey.

Picnic 🍴

Lunch is served as a picnic right at your fishing spot, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.

Afternoon 🐟

Fishing continues along different sections of the river, adapted to the conditions and your preferences.

Return & Final Discoveries 🚙

A Close Encounter with the Jungle

Experience a one-of-a-kind fishing adventure in the heart of Bardiya National Park, set in a pristine and wild environment. This permit-only activity is accessible by jeep and strictly follows all park regulations.

Two rivers are available for fishing: the nearby Karnali offers the chance to catch large but fewer impressive fish, while the more distant Babai features a greater variety of smaller fish. The Babai can be explored in a single day or as part of a two-day adventure with an overnight jungle bivouac.

Eco-Friendly Fishing Experience

Fishing is conducted as “catch and release,” with all fish returned to the water after being photographed. Beyond the sport, this experience offers a full immersion in the jungle — a rare opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat.
