From Telpani, you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Bardia, Banke, and Surkhet districts. On clear days, you may even see the Himalayan range.

Churia Valley Trek – 5 Days of Stunning Panoramas

This 5-day trek takes you into the heart of the Churia range, through lush forests, green hills, and traditional villages. Far from the crowds, it offers a gentle immersion into mountain life and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 1 | Nepalgunj

We will pick you up from Nepalgunj airport and transfer you to your hotel. Daman will take this opportunity to hold an information session. This friendly meeting allows you to learn the itinerary in detail, review safety instructions, and ask any questions—helping you prepare calmly for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 | Heading to Telpani (Elevation : 1020m)

From the lodge, a 4x4 takes us to the trek’s starting point. The hike begins through dense forests and green hills, dotted with isolated hamlets. By late afternoon, we will reach Telpani.

Day 3 | Ascent to Sukarmala (elevation : 1350 m)

We continue our climb toward Sukarmala. The trail offers spectacular viewpoints over the valleys and reveals a wilder atmosphere as we gain altitude.

Day 4 | Chisapani - Raajkada (elevation : 1400 m)

The final stage takes us to Raajkada, a peaceful village nestled by the Karnali River. Its calm waters and surrounding landscapes make it a perfect place to relax. We have dinner and spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 5 | Return to Bardia (elevation : 200 m)

After days of ascent and discovery, we descend toward Bardia. Our vehicle awaits to take us back to the lodge, marking the end of this mountain trekking and immersion experience.

An authentic immersion in the valley

On this trek, authenticity takes precedence over comfort. You will share meals carefully prepared by your hosts and spend the nights in small, simple yet welcoming mountain lodges, where each stop becomes an encounter.

Each midday, we stop for a picnic prepared by our hosts. Enjoyed in the heart of nature, these simple meals become true moments of contemplation, surrounded by the beauty of the landscapes.

From the Heights to the Banks of the Karnali

The first part of the trek links Bardia to Telpani, an untouched area of jungle, rolling hills, and perched villages. From there, the route follows a more traditional path toward Sukarmala and Raajkada, near the Karnali River, before reaching Chisapani.

A small population of sloth bears still inhabits this region, while the forested hills serve as a paradise for birdwatchers, teeming with tropical species. The descent offers a gentle transition from dense jungle to open plains.

Ridge Panoramas and Hidden Valleys

From the summit of Telpani, the panorama stretches across Bardia, Banke, and Surkhet districts. On clear days, the distant foothills of the Himalayan range emerge, adding a breathtaking and majestic dimension to the landscape.
